Drones4GREEN

The project titled “Drones for GREEn iNdustry”, with the acronym Drones4GREEN, is a three-year initiative (December 2022 – December 2025) funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union.

The project aims to promote digital innovation and sustainable development through the integration of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) into higher education and industrial practices. By equipping students, researchers, and professionals with practical knowledge and skills in drone technology, Drones4GREEN contributes to the European Green Deal and supports the digital transformation of key sectors. The initiative fosters interdisciplinary collaboration between academic institutions and industry stakeholders, delivering practical tools, case studies, and open-access platforms.

The project includes a range of targeted activities designed to achieve these objectives, such as:

• Integrating UAV-focused modules into university curricula in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and engineering fields.
• Establishing the Drone Open Digital Hub to serve as a central platform for training, collaboration, and resource sharing.
• Developing mobile applications and digital learning tools to support safe and effective drone usage.
• Implementing a real-world case study in precision agriculture to demonstrate the environmental and industrial benefits of UAVs.
• Strengthening partnerships between higher education institutions, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), and technology companies.
• Promoting sustainable entrepreneurship and lifelong learning opportunities.
• Aligning educational practices with EU priorities for climate action, innovation, and workforce development.
